It all began in 2017, in the heart of Port Douglas, where the palms meet the sea and life moves just a little slower.
What started as a small dream between a mother and daughter has since grown into one of Australia’s most beloved coastal boutiques — known for effortless elegance, timeless comfort, and designs made with heart.

A Mother–Daughter Dream

Mary had always loved the art of creating — sewing, sketching, and crafting clothing that made women feel confident.
Her daughter, Margeret, shared that same passion — not just for fashion, but for connection: helping women feel beautiful, comfortable, and seen at every stage of life.

Together, they opened a little shop tucked away on a quiet Port Douglas street.
There wasn’t much — just a few handmade dresses, a rack of blouses, and a lot of hope. But what they lacked in size, they made up for in soul.
Each piece that hung on the rack was made with care, love, and a promise:
that fashion should feel kind, not complicated.

Designs Made for Real Women

From the very beginning, Mary & Margeret stood for something simple — creating clothing that celebrates real women.
Women who’ve lived, laughed, raised families, and built lives.

And slowly, word spread — from locals who popped by after brunch on Macrossan Street to travellers who stumbled upon the boutique during their Port Douglas holidays.

Over the years, Mary & Margeret grew — not into a giant label, but into a beloved community.
Each customer who visited became part of their story — sharing laughs, memories, and even family moments inside the little boutique.
It wasn’t just about selling clothes; it was about sharing life.

Their long-time designer became a cornerstone of that story — bringing every sketch, stitch, and seam to life with quiet dedication and artistry. Her designs became instantly recognisable for their feminine lines, flowing movement, and timeless simplicity.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

Now, after years of devotion, their designer is retiring.
It’s the end of a beautiful chapter — one built on creativity, patience, and the belief that fashion can be both elegant and kind.

To honour her work, Mary & Margeret are holding a Clearance Sale featuring her final creations — the last pieces she personally designed and oversaw.
These dresses and blouses represent more than a collection; they carry the love, craftsmanship, and spirit of the woman who helped shape Mary & Margeret from day one.
